sparqs was delighted to hold its 2021 Student Engagement Awards to celebrate the tremendous achievements of our sector during the 2020-21 academic year in extraordinarily challenging circumstances. Open to all in our universities and colleges in Scotland, the awards served to showcase and celebrate some of the heroic and admirable ways in which staff and students have worked together to protect and enhance the learning experience in unparalleled circumstances.
This event, hosted by the Chair of sparqs’ Trustees, Sir Andrew Cubie, also featured the launch of our report, Celebrating Successful Partnerships in 2020-21, which highlights our sector’s effective practice in student engagement, and culminated in the announcement of the winners in our six award categories.
The event hashtag, for use on Twitter, was #sparqs21
The event took place online, beginning at 5.00pm and finishing around 6.00pm. It was free to join, but attendees were required to register. We were especially keen for those who had submitted nominations to the awards to join us, and we were delighted to welcome everyone who attended and contributed to the chat throughout the ceremony.
Congratulations to everyone who was shortlisted and all our winners, and many thanks to everyone who took the time to make submissions, many of which are featured in the celebrating success report.
